AACVPR in collaboration with Cardiometabolic Health Congress (CMHC) will host a special webinar on the utility of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) for diabetes patients participating in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.  During this webinar, CMHC chair and diabetes expert Anne L. Peters, MD, will discuss the role of CGM in optimizing blood glucose control, exercise and nutrition, as well as associated CGM features and functional operability. At the end of her presentation, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions. Dr. Peters, Professor of Clinical Medicine and Director of Clinical Diabetes Programs at University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA, is one of the nation's foremost experts in type 1 and type 2 diabetes, as well as technology applications for diabetes management.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Discuss diabetes outcomes beyond HbA1c, particularly with regards to cardiovascular risk reduction
  2. Consider how CGM technology can help improve these outcomes, as well as optimize exercise and nutritional regimens
  3. Review CGM devices and develop a clinical strategy for their use in patients with diabetes participating in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation
